Yiannis Maltezos
Founder and Winemaker

He is an electrical engineer graduate (1975) from Karlsruhe Technical University of West Germany. Co-founder of Strofilia in 1980, when with Achilleas Lampsides decided to try work within the viticulture by replanting Yiannis’ family estate in Anavyssos, Attica, which was left behind due to phylloxera which destroyed it in 1956.

During the 1980s, the wine bar STROFILIA was founded, where the "renaissance" of Greek wine is now available in Athens.

Being a bio-cultivator himself, he is convinced of the potential of the vineyard in Attica and especially the one of the Anavyssos region and he is constantly working to improve local wines. Today he continues with the "refreshed" Strofilia, having an active place in the new corporate scheme.
